Join us for an exciting live coding session where we’ll build a Web 3.0 NFT Jumping game inspired by Doodle Jump.

During this session, we will:

• code and deploy a smart contract for minting NFTs
• create a front-end for an interactive game with only HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• integrate the front-end with the smart contract so that players can mint the NFTs they won by playing
• learn about leading tools for coding and contract deployment
• preview the potential of NFTs and blockchain to change the gaming industry

This webinar is ideal for developers looking to get started with blockchain. Bonus but totally optional – an interest in gaming! 🙌

What to prepare before attending

1. MetaMask – Go to metamask.io and create a wallet if you don’t already have one. Install the extension on your browser of choice.
2. Use a computer with an Internet connection instead of a phone, as we will be doing some hands-on coding during the session!
3. Optionally, add the Mumbai test network from chainlist.org (make sure “Show test networks” is enabled!) and get some test tokens from mumbaifaucet.com.
4. You may also want to create a free account on codesandbox.io for coding our front-end code.

Q: Do I need to have any prior experience/knowledge with web development to attend this webinar?
A: No prior experience with Ethereum or Solidity is required, but some familiarity with web technologies like JavaScript would make it easier to follow along (and enjoy!)

A: While this webinar is designed for beginners, experienced web developers who are new to blockchain may find insight and ideas for web projects that can be created on the blockchain!

Q: What tools do I need to follow along with the webinar? Do I need to download and install anything?
A: You will need a MetaMask wallet and extension installed. Following along from a desktop/laptop is highly encouraged if you wish to code along easily during the session. Besides that, we will be using browser-based code editors – no download or install required!

Q: What programming languages will be used to build the game?
A: The game will be built using Solidity for coding the smart contract, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for building the front-end website.

Q: How are NFTs integrated into the game?
A: NFTs will be integrated into the game by allowing players to collect and mint them as skins for their character.

Q: Do I need to spend anything for the session?
A: We will be using test tokens and deploying to a test network on the blockchain. No real currency will be used!
